3D Aldo

This is my submission to MISTRES DOS Game Jam 2026

Aldo was on the first computer I've ever used. I thought making 3d games for DOS was an unreachable goal for a long time. After reading up on ACKNEX A3 I realized how this really friendly tool got forgotten to time. It's a game creation kit that helps non programmers get their art on the screen and moving around. 3d Gamestudio was marketed as an advertisement and gaming tool. It's best known for cult games like Mr Pibb and Saints of Virtue. Later games also have resurfaced like Funny Pizza Land on the A5 engine.

I'm halting my development of 3D Aldo. I have lots of ideas for the engine but I need to work on other projects. A funny idea I had was to have FMV play when Aldo dies in different ways. Like some kinda bowling animation cheese. Look for my upcoming video on ACKNEX.
